Welcome Back! The staff at Bunny Sanford’s School of Dance extends a big “Welcome Back!” to our students and families as we arrive to the opening day of the 2010-1011 dance school year. We hope you are rested, refreshed, and ready to bring your energized minds and bodies back into the studio. The teachers are eager to get bending, stretching, jumping, turning, and moving to the music with our students. Though we spent some free time resting and vacationing, many of our dancers took advantage of the extra time to really improve their skills this summer. We are pleased and proud of our students from the Primary through Advanced levels who attended the six-week workshop. Miss Bunny commented that classrooms were full of hard-working dancers who seemed to be genuinely enjoying their dance experience this summer. In addition, our newest summer program, the one-week Summer Intensive, was also very successful. Twenty dancers were exposed to a variety of classes, including partnering, variations, contemporary, and stretching and turning classes. “The students who took part in the intensive were very dedicated and focused,” remarked Miss Angie. “It was the highlight of my summer to see them accomplish so much in such a short time.” Other students were able to study dance at various
well-known summer programs, including ABT, Joffrey Midwest and Joffrey Chicago,
Alvin Ailey, Overall, summer 2010 appears to have been a very productive time for many of our students, and we hope that motivation and joy for dancing extends into this new and promising season.
